Zebra Heliconian

This Zebra Longwing (Heliconius charithonia) spent ten
days in our yard fall of 2020. First one we have had locally
since 2016, for me at least. They are LTA - less than annual.

Gulf Fritillary

Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) are common here.

Variegated Fritillary

Variegated Fritillary (Euptoieta claudia) is also common.

The Julia was on the Rare Bfly page before, but not here.
A couple other tropical longwings have been seen at Concan.

julialongwing

Julia Longwing (Dryas iulia) at a lantana in Utopia, Nov. 3. 2007. Related to the more familiar Zebra Longwing, but rarer here. With ridiculously long and narrow wings. Nothing like it here. In 2 of 10 years had a total of 4 individuals. Then one in 2016 was the first since the drought. But not one since then.
